New Pool
Pet Store
Braylon loves the pet store! He kept calling this puppy "Dukie". I guess he thought it looked like our dog, Duke.

Goin' to Town on Some Watermelon
This boy loves watermelon! He ate about five slices this afternoon. It brings back memories of when my Papa always had a watermelon waiting on us after school :)
Shadow!
Braylon has started talking to his shadow, sometimes for ten minutes or more. At first he would say "hi Braylon" to his shadow, but now he knows to call it "shadow." He will even wave at it and do all sorts of silly things :)

Splash Pad-First Trip of the Summer
We took our first trip of the summer to the Splash Pad. Braylon was so excited, and had a good time playing in the sand with his buddy Crosby.

I Guess It's Time to Pack a Bag?!
Today I went in for my 36 week appointment. I was dilated one centimeter and my cervix was already thinning. I thought that was good news, since I went in expecting no changes. The doctor also talked with me about inducing labor the week before my due date, and let me know that there was no risk in doing so. Therefore, I agreed. It's not set in stone yet, but the plan is to induce May 28th or 29th. Being able to go in rested and with a plan for where Braylon will be is a relief! That is if baby Volker doesn't decide to make his debut before then! I'm going to go ahead and pack my bag just in case! ;)

New Trampoline & Garage Centers
Last weekend, even with a baby shower and fish fry, Brad managed to go to Plano to pick up a new trampoline for Braylon. We got it for $200 from one of Emily's friends who was moving out of state. We set it up while Braylon napped on Sunday, and when he woke up and saw it, he said "BOUNCE!" It was cute. He loves it, and will jump every day!
This crazy Texas weather had Braylon as you see him in the picture above earlier this week, and then today we were forced to stay inside with crazy winds and cold temps (Braylon already had a runny nose, so I didn't want him to get worse). I hate days when we can't really go outside, because it gets boring and makes the day go by really slowly. Soooo, I decided to set up some centers in the garage to keep this little busy body entertained. I put some dry, colored rice in his water table that I had made the day before. Then he also had bubbles, play-doh, and paint. He loved it! It was great, and even allowed me to get some laundry done and make progress on a painting project.

Krista's Baby Shower and Memorial Fish Fry
This past weekend, we all headed to Rockwall for my sister-in-law's baby shower and a first annual fish fry in honor of my Papa, who passed away a year ago on April 27th. It was a busy but fun weekend! Getting almost all the family together again felt like old times. Papa would've loved it so hopefully we can keep this tradition going.

It was cool to see the generational shift in roles. My brother and Jason frying fish and fries here, where it used to be Granny & Papa, Mom & Dad, and aunts and uncles. |
