Sing and Dance- That's What I Do

Braylon was showing Uncle Blake his dance moves this past weekend.  He also has recently learned to sing into his toy microphone.  He sings all the time....I guess that's something he's picked up on from his Momma.

Beautiful Day Outside

The rain clouds have left us for now, so we got to enjoy lots of sunshine yesterday.

"I love my tunnel."

"When is he going to move so I can get that stick?"

"Gimme that stick!"

"Have this stick, Duke."

"TREEEE!"

"How 'bout some water, Gus?"  (So nice of you to share, Braylon.)

I posted yesterday about Braylon having a rough day in the post "The Joys of Teething".  This was him before nap:

We need less of this...

And after nap:

...and MORE of this

Here's some of the damage the little woodchuck has done to the crib.  The other side is worse.

I'm In Love

I'm in love not only with my amazing husband, but this precious little boy named Braylon.  Even when we have rough days, which we do, I still feel so overwhelmed with love and joy to have him.   And yes, it's not all sunshine and rainbows around here, even though you don't ever see posts of me getting frustrated or Braylon having a meltdown.  It just comes with the territory I guess.  I'm sure every mother can relate.

How can you not just fall in love with this sweet face (no matter how much he tests your patience sometimes)?
Brad and I went out to dinner last night, while he stayed with Suzy & Tommy.  We were only gone for a couple hours, but we both missed him.  This is the tired little boy at home after we picked him up from the sitter.  Just about to drift off to sleep....

The Joys of Teething

Braylon has been trying to get some more teeth, and we have plenty of teeth marks on his crib rails to prove it.  Poor guy just had a rough day and was NOT wanting to take a nap.  I rocked him, I laid with him, I left him alone, I tried it all and none of it worked.  I would have just let him go on playing, but he didn't want to really do that either.  He was cranky, and was happy to let me know ALLLL about it.  We finally resorted to driving around the neighborhood, and he fell asleep in about 15 minutes.  He's been asleep for about an hour now...SHHHHH, don't wake him!  Here's the sad, tired little boy with sore gums (the medicine hadn't kicked in yet).  :(

When It Rains, It Poors

Yesterday, it rained.  And rained. And RAINED.  Braylon and I thought about getting an intertube and floating down the river in our backyard.  It sure as heck would've beat being trapped indoors all day long.  Despite the downpoor, we managed to have fun dancing and singing to some of Momma's sweet tunes  ;)  And I must say, Braylon is becoming a much better dancer!  Hopefully, I can get a video of it soon.  In the mean time, take a gander at our flooded back yard.

This is Braylon looking at the back window wondering what that loud noise is (thunder).  He got a little scared, as did our weeny dogs.  Gus and Hoss trotted off to their houses at the first sounds of thunder, while Duke stayed out a while and barked at the thunder.  What a nut!

To Mothers of Sons...

Check out this post about mothers-of-sons I stumbled across one day.  I love it.  If you have a son, go read it.  It just might make you all mushy inside and simultaneously ready to be a kick-A mother to your boy(s).

Happy Valentine's Day

Hugs & kisses from our family to yours! *xoxox*

Working Hard for Some Oranges

When we got home from the grocery store yesterday, I proceeded to put everything away.  I put the bag of oranges in the crisper, closed it, but left the fridge open to put more things away.  Braylon opened the crisper, pulled out the bag of oranges all by himself, then tried to open the bag.  He was getting frustrated that he couldn't get one out, so he started grunting out in anger.  I guess he REALLLYY wanted an orange!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long.  We got a new cable/internet provider on Friday, and ever since then our internet had been down...until tonight.
This was yesterday.  Silly boy was sitting in the toy box bin.

First Trip to the Salon

I took Braylon to the salon to get a trim today.  I was scared I would mess it up for his one-year photos.  He did so good in the chair.  I held him in my lap while he ate a sucker and watched "A Bug's Life".
Here he is eating his sucker and watching the movie.  He looks like he could be the child of Lloyd(Jim Carrey) in Dumb and Dumber.

And here's the results...not too bad.  Just need to get used to the short bangs.

11 Months Old

Braylon turned 11 months old last Friday.  We were in Rockwall for my Granny's 82nd birthday and for a family member's baby shower.  Braylon is becoming such a big boy.  I can't believe it's already less than four weeks until his first birthday!  Here's a glimpse of Braylon at 11 months...
  • Whenever we say "Where's the ball/pillow/monkey/bear/dogs?", he will crawl over to them or look towards the back door for his dogs.
  • says "mama", "dada", and "nana".  He will try to say "dog" but he can't make the "G" sound.  He has said "car" a few times also.
  • will stand without holding onto anything for extended periods of time, but won't take that first step yet.
  • eats pretty much anything you put in front of him except peaches and mango, great appetite
  • loves peekaboo, baths, music, and food
  • still naps twice a day and eats three meals, one snack, and three 8 oz. bottles
  • challenge to dress him and change his diaper because he can't sit still
