Cuteness

Opening of Dove Season/Family Visit

Dove season started last weekend, so my family came to visit and keep me company while Brad was gone. The weather was beautiful and we had a good time shopping, playing outside and watching football.

My little slugger....

...is now my sick little man. Just as Wyatt seemed to be getting well, Braylon came down with a fever last night. He's also got a horrible cough and runny nose. This was this morning...

Allergies

Last Sunday the 22nd, I noticed a little rash and red eyes on Wyatt that night. The next morning he woke up and was fine. He was refusing to breastfeed though. The rash reappeared Tuesday and we went to the doctor on call that evening. She wasn't really sure so we left with no answers. The next couple days the rash would come and go, and he aslo sneezed a lot, had a runny nose, and was fussy. Thursday we took him in to his regular pediatrician, and he thought he may be developing an allergy to our laundry soap, which has been the same since he was born. We switched to Dreft and started giving him Allegra. Friday evening after dinner, he started rubbing his eyes and the rash appeared once again but this time with a mad vengeance. He screamed all through the night and his eyes were so red and swollen. The rash was all over his face and neck line and was bright red bumps. It was so sad and scary that I was worried we'd be making a trip to the E.R. I figured it was the peas he ate. Coincidentally, this is the same thing he ate when the rash first appeared on Sunday. Today, a week later, he seems back to his normal self and the rash seems to be going away. We're still giving him Allegra and cortisone cream, and still using Dreft to be on the safe side. But we just aren't 100% sure if it's the peas or laundry soap...and frankly, I'm terrified to put it to the test. Never been much of a gambler.  It was an awful experience hearing him scream and cry and not knowing the cause or how to make it better.
Tuesday-first trip to dodoctor
Friday night-after second trip to doctor, and starting to use Allegra and Dreft laundry soap

And this wasn't even the worst it got. He was much more swollen in the middle of the night and had a hard time breathing.

4 Months Old

Wyatt turned four months old Thursday. He was so tall the doctor had to measure him three times to make sure he was right. Here's his stats:
Weight: 16 lbs 1oz. (50-75th percentile)
Height: 28 inches (over the curve so 100+ percentile)
Head: 16 inches (50th percentile)

BIG FAN OF BATHS....

NOT A FAN OF SWINGS....YET
Yesterday afternoon-first time on the swing

I've desperately been wanting pictures of the boys TOGETHER to hang in the house. Our backyard is the perfect place, so the other morning we went out back for a photo shoot. It took a little bribing for Braylon to cooperate, but I managed to get a few cute shots.

Weekend in Rockwall/Mabry's Bday

We headed to Rockwall this weekend to visit family and to go to Mabry's (my cousin, Andy's daughter)second birthday party. It was the first time I had been back home since having Wyatt and everyone was happy to meet him and baby Greyson as well. The funny thing was everyone thought that Wyatt was my brother's baby with them both having red hair. We had everyone confused.

Upon arriving at my parents' house, Wyatt screamed and cried for about 45 minutes. It was strange, but finally a warm bath calmed him and put him right to sleep. He was back to his normal, happy self afterwards. The next afternoon, we headed to Andy's for the pool party. Braylon had a blast swimming, jumping on the trampoline, and eating all sorts of sweets. Even Wyatt was happy in the cool water. Then the fun came to a scary hault when Braylon drove himself and Mabry into the trampoline almost decapitating them both. They were riding Mabry's new jeep. Luckily Brad was nearby to speedily come to the rescue, and the kids were all right. Poor Mabry was traumatized on her birthday, but Braylon was just upset he couldn't drive anymore. Figures.
Cousins Greyson & Wyatt are six weeks apart.

Braylon & Joey bonding. Joe saw the "dare-devil" in Braylon and got him to jump off the rock waterfall. Thanks Joe.

Baby Food

Wyatt started baby food a couple days ago. He has been holding his head pretty steady and sitting in his booster seat well, so we thought we'd go ahead and give it a try. He likes the food and momma likes the longer stretch between feedings. So far he has had bananas, sweet potatoes and carrots, and he liked it all. But lets face it...this kid is just a natural-born eater.

A Boy's Dream

Braylon got to witness a chainsaw, a backhoe and a dump truck at work yesterday.  There was a dead tree that was being cut down by the city, and Braylon thought it was pretty cool.
