Father's Day Weekend

The Butler side of the family all got together last weekend to celebrate Father's Day and to welcome our new niece/granddaughter, Harper Grace. It was such a pleasure to see my whole family and to see the precious new life of Harper.

She was born June 17th, weighing 7 lbs even, and was 19.5 inches long. She kept us waiting a few extra days past her due date, but it was well worth it. She's a beautiful, healthy baby! Welcome to this crazy world Harper and Happy Father's Day to my amazing father, husband, and father-in-law.

We hooked Dad up with some new fishing gear. :) You are the best Dad & Papa we could have ever asked for. Love you!

Grampa Rollie is the best! Thanks for helping to raise my husband into a wonderful man and father, and for taking care of our boys.

Grampa Rollie and Braylon have a funny relationship and it's neat to watch!

Vacation Bible School

Braylon had a week of VBS June 8-12th, and he really did not want it to end. I was fortunate enough to be one of the teachers in his class, so I got to see all the wonderful moments of him learning about God. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Wyatt was there too, but with his age, they mainly just played.

Each morning, Braylon's class went to music class, had snow cones, played a thematic game outside, learned the Bible Story and verse of the day, more outside activity, and back in the class for arts, crafts, games, and centers. It was so fun!

Braylon did the "trust fall"

The kids made binoculars and went searching for things God made.

"God made crickets!"

I peaked in on Wyatt playing with Sam :)

End of School Parties

The boys had a splash day for the last day of school! It was all fun and games until the second party. Tantrums were being thrown by some redhead and naps were needed abruptly! The parents in Braylon's class had never heard such a scream until Wyatt arrived. Nonetheless, both boys had fun playing in the water and seeing their friends one last time before summer.

First Swim of the Season

We have been so thankful for the sunshine lately! Projects are getting completed on our house and we finally get to SWIM! We went Monday and the boys had a blast! It is a lot easier to take them this year, because Wyatt does well with the arm floats now and Braylon can swim (sort of). It was a bittersweet start to the summer, as we had to say our goodbyes to my best friend, Hayley, and her daughter, Maddie. We will miss them so much.

Braylon's friend, Maddie. They have been friends since they were one year old.

Haircut for Wyatt

We took Wyatt to get his hair cut by a professional for the second time in his life, and it went MUCH smoother than the first. He wasn't freaking out over the cape around his neck. He didn't cry because he wanted down. And he didn't even squirm. He sat there patiently and calmly reading his book and talking to Braylon and me. The girl does a good job cutting his hair too. She keeps it long and shaggy still, and doesn't trim the front to look like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. Two thumbs up!

Derrick's Wedding

One of Brad's best friends got married Memorial Weekend in Dripping Springs. The boys got to spend quality time with their Grampa Rollie, Gramma Dar, Aunt Ali, Brady and Kenzie, while Mommy and Daddy went to the rehearsal dinner and wedding. We had a great time despite the crazy weather, and wish the Caudles the best of luck as they start their journey together!!

Wyatt Turns Two

Wyatt turned TWO last Tuesday, May 26th! We had a small celebration at home with yummy cake and ice cream. He is growing up into a little boy now and is learning so much. He can count to 10 (skips 4), and say his ABCs (sounding like Jodi Foster in the movie Nell). He has quite a temper and will scream ferociously when he gets mad.  It is so loud that even earplugs wouldn't drown this kid out. Overall, he is a happy little boy, though. He can be sweet and gentle, then rough and tough!! Here are some of his  FAVORITES:

TOY: books & trucks
FOOD: chicken, rice
SNACK: Nature Valley bars, yogurt
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: trampoline & baseball
PLACE TO GO: pool
FRIENDS: Kannon & Benjamin
MOVIE: Frozen
INDOOR ACTIVITY: coloring & reading
SONG: "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor :)
