Weekend at Nana and Papa's

This past weekend, Braylon stayed with Nana and Papa for the weekend.  We met them half way between here and Rockwall to drop him off. We thought it would be fun for Braylon to have Nana and Papa all to himself (a.k.a. "get spoiled"), while Brad and I got some rest. We also got some projects done and enjoyed alone time with Wyatt. Braylon had a blast and it was good for all of us.

He got to go to Build-A-Bear, where he made "Sully the Monster." He also got to swim, go to the park, and go out to dinner. What more could a kid ask for!?

Wyatt's Newborn Photos

Ali was nice enough to take some pictures of Wyatt while she was here a couple weeks ago.  He wasn't as cooperative as we would have liked him to be, but she got some cute ones of our little carrot top.  The second one makes me laugh and the last one is my favorite!

First Day of Preschool

Today was Braylon's first day at school.  It's called "Summer Splash" at a local church, and he goes from 8-1 on Wednesdays. He was excited about playing with new toys and having fun with friends. He went right in and started playing,  but then I heard him call for Mommy as I walked down the hall to leave. When I picked him up, he was playing but very happy to see me. He was cranky and wanted me to carry him out. I guess he missed me, but I'm sure he'll get used to it in no time. We got a good report and he did not have any accidents.  Yay!

Wyatt's Two Week Check-Up

Height: 22 1/4 inches
Weight: 9 lbs 6.5 oz
Other: You got your heel pricked so they could send off blood for testing. They were impressed with how tough you were. You didn't even cry but maybe a second. Dr. Knight said you were coordinated and strong for only being two weeks. He said this because you kicked hard, swatted at his instrument when he checked your ears, and were able to pull your head up when I held you. I told them you had to be tough to hang in there with your big brother, who is also pretty darn tough. Lets hope all these tough boys won't make for some trips to the emergency room like your Daddy when he was a kid. You remind me of your Dad not only because of how strong you are already, but also because you always have this serious look on your face. Oh and you like to eat!

Playdate with Maddie

Maddie came over to play with Braylon this morning. He was so happy to have a friend to play with and so was I :) Thank goodness he kept his swimsuit on (only because I made him)!

So stinkin' cute!

Brad had to go to California for work Sunday morning until Monday night,  so Ali and Brady came to spend the night with us. It was a lot of fun!  The boys swam,  played on the swing set, jumped on the trampoline and visited the cows. Once they went to bed,  Ali and I enjoyed a chick flick. Braylon was sad when they left but we both were so happy to have Daddy back home earlier than expected.

Naughty and Nice

Braylon has been doing pretty well adjusting to baby Wyatt with a few exceptions here and there. Yesterday was one of those exceptions. While I was changing Wyatt's diaper, Braylon grabbed his foot and squeezed so hard his nail dug in and cut Wyatt's foot. They both cried hysterically. Braylon cried because he saw I was angry and he really does not like when Wyatt cries. He actually cried more than Wyatt did. I'm sure this is just the first of many bo-bos Wyatt will receive at the hands of his big brother.

Funny Faces

Wyatt shows us his serious side and his fun side.

Wyatt Lane is HERE!

On Sunday,  May 26th, my water broke at 3 a.m.  Oddly enough, this was the same exact time my water broke with Braylon. Wyatt arrived at 11:37 a.m., weighing in at 8lbs 3oz and measuring 21 inches long. He also had a head full of red hair! It will be interesting to see how he changes in the weeks to come. The first few days were stressful since he had a really high jaundice level. Then there was also concern about an infection since Wyatt and I have different blood types. Thankfully, there was no infection and we got to go home on Wednesday night. After a couple more trips to the hospital the following days to check his bilirubin level, Wyatt's jaundice gradually lowered after peaking Thursday.

Braylon has been great with Wyatt after a day or so of jealousy and being rough with him. He tried feeding him a fruit snack and orange juice, and likes to help with feeding him a bottle.  It's so cute to see him help with Wyatt and be gentle with him. I'm so thankful he is adjusting well to being a big brother. It is busy around here but fun and totally worth it ;)
