Eli's Party

Braylon and I went to a birthday party Saturday morning at the park, where I discovered he loves Kool-Aid Jammers.  He had four of them in less than two hours.  It was a beautiful day at the park.  Daddy unfortunately was unable to join us, because he was working hard on fencing off the pond, fixing up his old Jeep truck, and putting Braylon's new slide up that he got from the Fredregill's for his birthday!
He was very interested in watching Daddy build a support for the slide.

Big Helper!

Eating cheetos and drinking Kool-Aid while watching the waterfall at the park.  What a great life!

The Children's Museum

Last week, we went to The Woodlands Children's Museum.  Braylon loved the fish tank, the water tables where he got to fish, and the giant lite brite. It was a smaller museum than the one in Houston, which made it much nicer for keeping track of your kid.  Everywhere he scooted off to, I could still keep an eye on him.

The Weekend

This weekend, we got to spend a lot of time outside.  We finally had a good stretch of dry and somewhat warm weather.  Here's a few pictures I took around the house this weekend....
Our peach trees have blossoms!  Can't wait to pick the first peach this summer.

The apple trees have blossoms also.

Braylon got his mop shaved off.

Here he is with the fresh cut sliding down his new slide.  He looks totally different, and much older.  It's a little on the short side, but his hair grows so fast anyways.  I'll post a better picture of the new 'do later.

Brad coaxed Gus up on to the slide, then when he got to the bridge, he wasn't feelin' it.  He was too scared to walk across.  Brad had to rescue him.  It was funny!

We rode through the woods and around the yard on the Ranger.  Braylon was so relaxed that he just about fell asleep :)

Grampa Rollie

Dear Grampa Rollie,

I have missed you.  TRUE STORY:  The other day at the park, I kept trying to hold this man's hand because I thought he was you.  He looked just like you, but he probably thought I was so silly trying to hold his hand.  I hope to see YOU soon so you can hold my hand, and play with me at the park.

Love,
Braylon

Playing with the Blinkas and the Mangums

Braylon and I headed over to Lauren's house this morning to play with Gunner, Crosby, and Camdyn.  He had so much fun playing with all the toys and their dog!

Valentine's Day

We had a busy but fun Valentine's Day.  The whole morning we were at a MOPS(mother's of pre-schoolers) meeting, then after nap ,we went straight to the park for a Valentine's party for the kiddos.  This lasted until dinner time, where I came home to takeout from one of my favorite restaurants and pink roses from my sweet husband. :)  It was nice to just be home with him, since I have had absolutely no energy the past few days.  I hope everyone else enjoyed their Valentine's Day as well!

What a Mess

I guess Braylon was extremely bored from being trapped inside the past three days, because he started getting into EVERYTHING.  He emptied out half of our dresser and got into our stash of coke machine money.  He loved dumping out all of his toys, not to play with them, but just to make a mess.  All these messes made for one exhausted Mommy, and this is not including all the messes he made eating.  I do have to say he was pretty good about cleaning up, though...  Thank goodness today he's feeling well enough to get out of the house and the sun is finally shining!

I'm Shaving

Braylon was so excited to get to play with his shaving kit in the bath tub last night!  I guess he has paid attention to Daddy, because he seemed to know what to do already.

Exercising the Brain

Braylon was sick with a fever, cough, sneezing, and runny nose all weekend.  He didn't eat a thing yesterday, but has gotten his appetite back today and has no fever.  This, coupled with the weather, has left us inside watching movies for most of the past two days.  Even though Braylon was feeling better, we still couldn't go outside because it was raining again.  His toys don't entertain him that long and we weren't watching movies all morning again, so I decided to whip up a few games to play.  We also painted and played with his cars.  He got to exercise his brain, and it actually made the morning go by faster than if we had just watched a movie.  We had fun, too!

He has gotten a lot better with his painting.  The paint used to end up everywhere, BUT on the paper.

One of the games we played was matching brown, black and white objects into the correct spot on the egg carton.  He got this one down pretty quickly, since we've done it with all the rainbow colors before.  He knows all those but does not know brown, black, or white 100% yet.

You can see the wheels turnin' in that little brain :)  I love watching him think for himself and learn.

Next was math, my favorite subject.  He worked on number recognition and counting by placing the spoon on the card with the same amount of dots.  I think I expected too much on this one, but he started to get the concept and also was able to name the number he saw on the spoon.  I had to count the dots for him.

The wheels are turnin' again!  He said the number that was on the spoon.

Another activity we did was matching the uppercase letter to the lowercase using Easter eggs.  I ordered a bunch of these from Oriental Trading the other day, because there's so many things you can do with them, other than have an Easter egg hunt.  Braylon knows all the capital letters, but does not recognize its lowercase on the letters that look different than the uppercase.  For example, he can say "E" when he sees the capital, but doesn't know that "e" is also an "E."  Hopefully, this little activity will help.  He loved it, and even asked to do it again after I had put it away.
