Outside Time

This past weekend we had some beautiful weather. We had lots of fun hangin' outside and fryin' up a catfish dinner.

Car Wash

Wyatt was helping me clean out and wash the car. Him and Daddy are some hard-workin' boys :)

Sick Lil Fellow

Poor Braylon was dreadfully sick for a week straight (and on my bday, too)! I had never seen him so miserable. He had a fever for about six days, and did not eat all week. Pretty much all he did was sleep or lay around and moan. Then Brad got sick also. It's amazing Wyatt and I stayed healthy.

R.I.P. Duke

Our New Year hasn't gotten off to the best start. We lost a dear friend before Christmas, then had to face the hard fact that it was time to also say goodbye to our beloved dog, Duke. He lived a good life, but we were not willing nor wanting to let him live in pain any longer. Anyone who has owned a dog knows that they are more than just a dog. They are family and a constant companion.  We all loved Duke for his energy, livelihood, obedience, friendship and protection. He loved the water (could swim for hours if we let him), bird hunting with Brad, and fetching sticks.  He was a great dog that will be missed by us all.

The Butler Christmas

The weeknd after Christmas, my parents, my brother, sister and their spouses and kiddos came to stay with us and celebrate Christmas. It was a lot of fun and just what we needed...quality time with ones we love the most and don't get to see enough.

Here Comes Trouble- 7 Months with Wyatt

This is a little past due, but Wyatt turned 7 months the day after Christmas. He is now crawling all over the place, pulling himself up on things to stand, eating some table foods, and saying "momma" and "dadda." Although, I'm not quite sure he equates them to Brad and me yet. He is pretty independent and will play on the floor with toys without needing me there to entertain him. It's funny because Braylon is the opposite. He likes you there involved in what he's doing. I see quite a few personality differences in the boys already.

Wyatt can also easily get himself from standing to sitting now. He seems very fond of the fireplace and crawling to the bathroom, so we have to keep a close eye on him. He falls a lot or bumps his head somehow quite frequently. He is accident prone and has even pulled a floor lamp down, luckily only breaking the shade and not his head.

His naps are still great, ranging from 1.5-2 hours each in the morning and afternoon. He goes down around 9p.m. and wakes around 6 or 7. He is getting better about falling back to sleep on his own if he wakes in the middle of the night. He will definitely put up a fight sometimes when it is time to go down though. He's still wearing 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers. These first seven months have flown by and it's shocking to think he'll be walking and celebrating his first birhday soon!

Christmas at Home

It was nice to enjoy a Christmas especiallyand Christmas Day at home with our boys. This was really the first year we've done an all-out Christmas with lots of present from Santa. We have just gotten Braylon one big thing in the past, because he gets so much from other family. Now that he gets Santa and what Christmas is about, we had to make it more special.  We fed Santa's reindeer, read a book about baby Jesus, made Christmas cookies and left them by the fireplace with some milk for Santa to enjoy :) It was like being a kid again but better!

Braylon loved all his planes, especially this book from Wyatt that came with all the characters from the movie Planes and a play mat.

He spent all day playing with his planes.
