Thanksgiving

Braylon would just stare at Tate.  It was funny.  He even gave him kisses :)

Visitors

Braylon with Aunt Bonnie.  She watched him today while I got a haircut.

Braylon & my friend, Jennifer, watching the SHSU Women's basketball game on Friday.  It was so loud in there, but Braylon didn't mind.

Kisses

I've been trying to teach Braylon to give kisses, and he is catching on now.  When we pucker up and say "gimme kisses", he will lean in (usually with his mouth open) and put his mouth to ours.  Sometimes he will just giggle at us though.  Here he is trying to give his Daddy some kisses with a big smile on his face.

Two Front Teeth

Braylon's first tooth came in October 28th and the other just broke through on Sunday, November 13th.  Now he has the two bottom middle teeth.  He has been enjoying chomping on new foods lately.  He bared with me here as I got a shot of his new teeth:

Brad's Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Brad's 34th birthday.  We made him blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast, joined him for lunch followed by cake & ice cream at the office, then had a yummy home-cooked dinner(crab-stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon with a basil pesto cream sauce).  It was quite tasty :)  After dinner he opened his presents with the help of Braylon.  He got a Kindle and a cookbook for grilling.  Happy Birthday, Brad!

First Boo-boo

Braylon got his first big boo boo the other day.  He was on the floor in his room while I was changing his crib sheet.  He started pulling on the bed skirt of the twin bed in his room, when he lost his grip and hit his right eye on the metal bed frame.  It bled for a little while and looked like it really hurt, but he handled it pretty well.
He has a small cut on his right eye lid, which looks worse when his eye is closed.

Just Hangin' Out

This shirt was Brad's when he was little.

Transition

Braylon went through a stage where he woke up crying for us in the middle of the night and fought his naps.  To help him learn to fall asleep on his own and to soothe himself back to sleep, we spent the weekend letting him "cry-it-out".  He now will fall asleep on his own without crying if I put him in his crib while he's awake.  He no longer cries when I leave the room, and we don't have to go in his room in the middle of the night to put him back to sleep now.  What a relief!  He has slept with a "silky"(small blanket) for a while now, but we put Brad's old monkey in the crib with him to help comfort him.  It actually worked.  Here he is last night cuddling with the monkey.  It was cute.
If you look closely, you'll notice he's holding the monkey's hand.

8 months old

This past month Braylon got his first tooth and brought Elvis to life for a few hours on Halloween.  It has been a rough week for Braylon...or maybe just for Mommy and Daddy.  Every night he has woken up in the middle of the night crying hysterically.  I'm assuming it's because his teeth are hurting him.  The first one came in about a week ago and now he's working on the second one.  He also is not happy when we try to give him a nap.  Other than that, he is still an overall happy baby and is moving all over the place.  He loves being outside and riding on the Ranger through the woods.  He laughs at himself in the mirror, loves Clifford the big red dog still, and has managed to take 5 or 6 steps with his walker toy.  Hopefully he will be walking soon and will sprout this other tooth, so Mommy and Daddy can get some better sleep :)
Notice all the drool on the shirt that he only had on for maybe a minute before taking this picture.

Little raccoon- it was a windy, chilly morning so he had his warm hat on.

Braylon's First Halloween

For Braylon's first Halloween, I made him an Elvis costume.  We took him to a little party at Suzy & Tommy's and he got to go trick-or-treating with Briley.  Then he spent the rest of the evening chasing Briley around the house and entertaining us adults.  We had a good time. :)

The rhinestones on his costume didn't last as long as his hair did.
