I've been making quite a few custom signs lately. Here's a few:

Thanksgiving in Huntsville

This year we hosted Thanksgiving for both mine & Brad's family. We missed Rollie, my brother and his family, and Ali and her family. Blake just had a baby girl and they weren't up for traveling, and Ali's husband had to work. We were blessed with some pretty nice (and warm) Texas weather, so the kids had a blast outside. They rode Braylon's four wheeler, played football & hockey, wrestled on the trampoline, and fished at the pond. The adults enjoyed good conversation, cornhole, and a little Black Friday shopping. It was a great holiday with lots to be thankful for!

Thanks for the hockey sticks Uncle Bob!!

Recent Happenings

The most recent thing to happen here is Wyatt busting his ear drum, OUCH. While I was in the kitchen prepping dinner, Wyatt got into the q-tips. I saw him trip and fall by the back door, and as I get to him, he hands me a bloody Q-tip and is screaming. I immediately took him to the doctor where he screamed for an hour straight and we learned his ear drum was in fact busted. With all the blood, the doctor couldn't see if there was any further damage, so we were referred to a specialist. Soooo, bright and early Monday morning, we will go to College Station to get his ear checked out. To our surprise though, he has handled it well, and woke up the next morning his normal happy self. I'm hopeful we'll get a good report from the specialist, and his punctured ear drum will have to heal on its own (approximately 2 weeks).

Earlier the same day, I took the boys to their Thanksgiving parties at school. It was a good time for all.

Hobby

I've always loved to doodle and paint. After a friend's encouraging words and some friendly buyers, I decided to start making my own wood signs for purchase. As of right now, I do most of my selling to friends, and hope to slowly grow. I am currently making a few to put in my friend's new boutique here in town (it's called Magnolia Mey and has really cute clothes). It's nice to have a creative outlet and as a bonus make a few bucks here and there....plus power tools are kind of addicting. Rollie was actually the one who showed me how to use a saw. Thanks Rollie!!

If you're interested in anything let me know ;) I post all my stuff on instagram- {@christi_volker} and a handful of things are up on Etsy-{www.etsy.com/shop/doodlebugsigns}

Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek of some fall photos we had taken last week. Couldn't believe Brad agreed to this finally, but I guess 30 minutes with a friend snapping photos isn't too unbareable. These were taken at the Huntsville State Park.

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year! Braylon couldn't wait to wear his Captain America costume and go trick-or-treating. Wyatt just goes along with whatever his brother does, but once the trick-or-treating began, he was stoked to be getting CANDY!

Other than trick or treating, we also went to a pot luck Halloween party at a friend's house where some adults chose to dress up. I know what you're thinking. Brad went to a Halloween party?? He did, and enjoyed himself...at least that's what he tells me. :) I dressed up as Minnie Mouse.  All in all, it was a fun night and all the kids got along great.

That's a lot of kids and a lot of parents taking pics all at once. Thus, the crap pic I got trying to see over everyone.
