Another First for Braylon

We took Braylon to the park for the first time this morning.  It was nice and cool, and by cool I mean about 85 degrees in the shade.  He loved the swing but was not too thrilled with the slide.  I can't wait until it cools down outside, so we can take him more often and be able to stay longer.

Not impressed!  Maybe he would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't time for a nap.

I was surprised at how well he did in the swing by himself.  He didn't lean forward or get scared when we pushed him.  I guess it's time to put a swing in the backyard for our little man.

Precious Moment

Braylon likes to fall asleep with his cow he got from Gramma Dar.  Here he is at nap time this morning.

Funny Face

Braylon started making this new face that's funny but not his most attractive look.  He actually blows out his nose like a bull when he does it.  Silly boy!

Who do you think he looks like?

Swimming in the Kiddy Pool

We got a little pool for Braylon to use at the house.  We tried it out the other day, and he wasn't too impressed.  I tried to get him to splash around and he wouldn't.  He kept grabbing at the starfish printed on the bottom of the pool.  I laid him back in the water and he didn't mind that.  Maybe once he gets used to it, he'll splash around like he does in the bath tub.

Grocery Shopping

Braylon and I went grocery shopping this morning.  He got a little fussy right before we were about to check out, so I knew it was nap time. It wasn't five minutes later that he just couldn't take it anymore.  I held the blanket up to his cheek and he leaned over and passed out.  All the ladies in the store kept commenting on the sleepy boy sleeping in the shopping cart.

Braylon's Attempts at Crawling

This one makes me laugh.  He kicks his legs but then doesn't know what to do with them when his arms won't go.
Sounds like he says "mommy" here.
Being silly...I was trying to get him doing this weird thing with his tongue, but by the time I got the camera, he was doing this instead.

Big Boy Haircut

Braylon got a new haircut yesterday.  I'm not so sure if we'll be keeping it like this.  I kinda miss his long locks that I can run my fingers through.  Daddy had to trim up the sides while I held him when he got home from work.  These pictures were taken before we trimmed up the sides.

5 Months

Memories & Milestones this Month:  eats stage 2 baby food 2-3 times a day with 3 or 4 six ounce bottles, his favorite is pears & cinnamon with oatmeal, went swimming in a big pool for the first time, naps 2 or 3 times a day for 30-45 minutes each, sleeps through the night most nights, gets frustrated when he can't sit up or do exactly what he pleases and this is when you see his temper, played in the rain, experiments with all the toys on his jumperoo now, wears size 9 month in footed pajamas because he's so long, wears size 6 month onesies, plays with his feet all the time, puts toes in mouth, enjoys being read to or sung to

Making Progress

Braylon has been moving all over the place and seems anxious to get somewhere.  He gets his legs under him, kicks them, but just ends up toppling over instead of crawling.  It's entertaining to watch him try though.

Along with crawling, Braylon has been working on sitting up with no support.  He balances with his hands on the floor in front.  Then he will get brave and push up, trying to sit all the way up.  He hasn't mastered staying up yet though.  Still working on it...

Blinded by the flash

Daddy's Boy

Braylon LOOOOVES his Daddy.  When Brad gets home from work, Braylon smiles and laughs at everything he does.  It's adorable to see his face light up when he sees his Daddy.  I'm sure he'll be Brad's shadow as soon as he's able to keep up with him....and I know Brad can't wait for that day either.

Swimming

This was at the end of our swim trip.  He was ready for a bottle and nap.  Another mom there was kind enough to take our picture.

We made new friends at the pool- Allie, her brother Connor, and their mom, Shelly.  We were the only people at the pool.  This is Allie.  She liked pushing Braylon around in his floatie, and he liked it too.  He would smile at her.

He passed out as soon as we started the 5 minute trip back home.

Tasty Toes?
