The Volker Christmas

Gramma Dar, the Jensons and the Brandons all came to Huntsville this weekend to celebrate Christmas. My picture taking was pretty poor this year, but the kids all had a good time and played well together. They rode the ranger, played on the playscape and trampoline, and went to the pond and the woods. While inside for a bit during a little storm, they watched Planes, and opened presents, of course. The weekend just went by way too fast.

Christmas at School

This past Friday, Braylon's class performed "I'm a Little Snoman" at their Christmas pagaent. It was really cute. They wore top hats and scarves, and Braylon sang and danced his little heart out. I didn't get a picture of him performing since I was recording a video of it. Hopefully I'll be able to upload the video soon. Here's some of the pictures I got of him at his little party and the grand finale of the pageant singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

Uncle Rick Comes to Town

December 10th through the 15th, Brad's uncle came to visit and enjoy a little time in the woods hunting. Braylon acted like he knew him forever and was so excited to see him every night.

Braylon was concerned about a "bobo"(scratch) on Uncle Rick's hand. He even gave him kisses to make it feel better.

Learning New Things

Knew things have been developing with Wyatt in just the past couple of weeks. He can clap his hands now, feed himself, and crawl. It's funny to be in the kitchen and all of a sudden see his little face around the corner.

Indoor Activities

I'm not always good at coming up with things on the fly for Braylon to do inside. To say the least, I'm a planner(stop laughing Blake), and I like to be 100% prepared before starting a project, craft, or new activity. Luckily,  I was able to come up with something simple with things we had on hand to keep Braylon busy. I thought they were pretty fun too :) Math and Art...my favorite subjects!
He worked on counting by putting the correct number of marbles in the ice tray.

The Horse Whisperer

Know anyone in need of a good horse whisperer?

Eat Em Up Kats

Braylon got to go to the Bearkat football playoff game with Daddy,  and he loved it. We won the first round too! Woohoo, GO BEARKATS!

Good Times on the Trampoline

Wyatt giggles when he's up there with Braylon. He likes the trampoline.
If you are wondering how Braylon got the scratch on his head, he likes to run into the netting then fall on the trampoline. This always gives him rug burns on his face.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING...

Digging for planes...everything he picked out were planes. He also grabbed a clock and a baseball bat, but quickly forgot about those when he found airplanes. Maybe he'll be a pilot one day!

AND IT WOULDN'T BE CHRISTMAS WITHOUT AN AWESOME CHRISTMAS SWEATER THAT SCREAMS "I'M A CHICK MAGNET..."

Wyatt is 6 Months Old

Wyatt turned six months old this past Tuesday. The poor guy got three shots, an oral vaccine and a flu shot on top of all that. He has been a little under the weather, with a cough and runny nose, so he hasn't quite been his normal happy self. We've all been somewhat sleep deprived as well.

This month Wyatt has mastered sitting on his own and getting from laying to sitting position and vice versa. He'll take a morning nap for about an hour, an afternoon nap for 1-2 hours, and sometimes an early evening nap. Nighttime sleep has been rough with him being sick, teething and probably developing some separation anxiety, but he goes down around 8 or 9 and wakes anytime between 7 & 9a.m., depending on how he slept during the night. For the past two months, he has probably slept completely through the night without us going in to sooth or feed him maybe ten times at best. It can be frustrating, especially since he was a great sleeper sleeping long stretches since he was about eight weeks old.

Other memories and milestones this month are him doing the army crawl(crawling with his belly on the floor), learning to growl and make funny noises with his mouth. He laughs at his brother a lot, and can have a bit of a temper. He is very defensive, which sucks when we try to wipe his nose or give him medicine. He is very strong too, so he is not the best patient at his check-ups. Braylon is the complete opposite...very compliant and calm, letting the doctor do whatever he wants.

His stats this month are:

Weight: 18lbs 1ounce (50-75 percentile)
Height: 29.5" (100+ percentile)
Size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes
