Father's Day Weekend

For Father's Day weekend, Brad's Dad, Rollie, flew in from California.  Usually, he has to make his rounds from Houston to Huntsville, Dallas, and Austin to see all of the grandkids, but this time we made it a little easier for him.  Everyone came to our house for the weekend, and it was a lot of fun with eight adults and five kiddos running around.  Brad smoked some yummy ribs, chicken, sausage, and pork, while the kids played in the baby pool, fished in the pond, rode around on the ranger, visited the cows and checked out some turtles from the turtle trap.

Brady, Luke and Braylon
Braylon was following Elle and Grampa Rollie out to the pond to go fishing.  That idea got vetoed real quick.

Hangin' out on the porch waiting for the thunderstorm to pass.  Braylon found Luke's shoe and thought he'd give it a chew- GROSS!

The rain didn't keep Braylon from playing outside.

The others headed back home, and Braylon finally had some one-on-one attention thanks to Grampa Rollie.

Splash Pad

This morning we headed to the splash pad with some friends.  Braylon had so much fun!

Braylon was real interested in what Christina and Tori were doing.

Daddy Time

Toddler Bed

We went ahead and put Braylon's toddler rail on his crib.  It seemed like a good idea to do it before he hits the terrible twos, and with the goal in mind of him being out of the crib before we have another baby.   To our surprise, Braylon did very well with the transition!  We put him to bed while he was awake just like we always do, and he never got up.  Even when he woke up the next morning, he stayed in bed until I came in to get him.  It has been three nights and naps now, and he has not gotten out at all.  Everytime we go in his room now, he will crawl up in his bed and say "night, night."  I think he likes his "new" bed :)

Picnic at the Park

Braylon and I packed a lunch and headed to the pool and park this morning.  He definitely got all that energy out of him, which made for a nice, long nap this afternoon.  This was much-needed, since he has been rather restless lately.  His first molar broke through with three more not far behind.  Needless to say, he had a rough night the other day, not to mention some crankiness the past week...ugh!  Gotta feel for the poor fella' :/
He's getting a lot better at feeding himself with a fork/spoon and will sometimes get the food on the utensil all by himself.

Belly full of tuna, watermelon, and fruit snacks...who wouldn't want to lay down after that?

Trip to New Braunfels

Brad got to go deep-sea fishing in Port Aransas with some guys from work this weekend, so Braylon and I headed off to New Braunfels to visit Aunt Krista and Uncle Blake.  It was the first time we had been to their new house.  We all had lots of fun!

Braylon made himself at home immediately after arriving to the Butler residence.

He plopped himself right in Krista's lap like he belonged there.

Braylon kept bringing Uncle Blake different books and toys for them to play together.  You would think he was always around Uncle Blake & Aunt Krista the way he was interacting with them.

He was mesmerized by Uncle Blake's guitar playing.

"I can do that, too."

Fun Times at Home!
