Some of my closest friends moved away a few years ago, but we still have kept in touch! This summer I had the best time hosting them and their kiddos for a few days before Hayley moved to Washington. She came to Huntsville when our oldest kids were best about 1.5 years. She stayed here two years before she moved to Kansas, then California, and now D.C. It is so special when we can all get together. I just loved seeing all of our kids play together again like they had never been apart.

Lake Trip 2017
At the end of July, my side of the family rented a house on Cedar Creek Lake. We fished, floated, and took the boat out for some skiing and tubing. When we weren't on the boat, the boys loved running and jumping off the dock! We all had a great time and can't wait for our next lake trip!
Beach Trip Summer 2017
July was our first vacation of the summer. We ventured off to Galveston for a week with Brad's family. We had the best time relaxing on the beach during the day and crab hunting at night!

Wyatt Lane Turns Four!
Poor Wyatt...his birthday was slightly overshadowed by the end of school, baseball season, and summer beginning. We didn't have a party. We had planned on taking him to have pizza, but he was totally content going to Braylon's team party, playing and eating pizza at the park. He requested baseball cupcakes, so I delivered! He ate cupcakes with his class the last week of school, a few days before his actual birthday. He also got a new blow up water slide, baseball cleats, bat bag, pool toys, and baseball jerseys. The sweet kid is obsessed with baseball like his big brother. He MUST put on a full uni every day after school to go out and play ball....even if it was dirty from the day before. That didn't stop him from digging it our of the dirty laundry basket. Ew!! But so stinkin' cute! Gotta love Smoochie!!
Here are his favorites:
Sport:baseball
Show: Transformers, Oscar, Wild Kratts
Toy: Transformers
Activity: playing baseball

What he wants to be when he grows up: jet pilot or zoologist
Spring '17 Baseball
Braylon played his second season of baseball this spring. He hadn't played since the spring he turned four years old, so we weren't sure what to expect. He was the starting third baseman for his team. He threw out several kids from third, and even hit a few homeruns! He improved so much this year, and fell in love with the game. He gradually started to "get it" and it was so fun to watch! He is ready for fall ball, and so is Wyatt!
Braylon's 6th Birthday
Braylon is a big six year old now! This year he started kindergarten, lost his first tooth, and made new friends at his new school. We didn't have a big party this year. I took dinosaur cookies to his class and his best friend, M.J., came over. They played games, built a fort, played outside, pretended to be army men, and ate ice cream!
Here are some of his favorites:
Sport: baseball
Friend: M.J.
School Subject: Math
Show: Transformers, Wild Kratts
Food: pizza, tacos & hamburgers

A Weekend with My Girls
In April, we planned our annual girls' trip! Luckily for me, my school has a Fair Break in April (since so many kids and faculty are involved in the rodeo), so I got to enjoy a LONG weekend with my closest friends. Most of us live in different towns now, but we still make every effort to plan a trip each year.
Hayley flew in from California, Erica hosted us in Austin, Leigh came from College Station, and Rachel and I were the lone Huntsvillians. We stayed at a neat hotel in downtown Austin! We shopped, ate, danced, played at Top Golf, took a day trip to the Magnolia Silos, and had a Spa Day. We fit it all in, and had a great time!
Walker County Fair and Rodeo
Back in March, we took our annual trip to the Walker County Fair and Rodeo. Braylon did Mutton Bustin' again, and placed in the top 10 for his age bracket. We rode rides, ate some typical fair food, and enjoyed a bit of the rodeo for as long as the kids would cooperate (which is never as long as we want them to).
