Walker County Fair and Rodeo

Back in March, we took our annual trip to the Walker County Fair and Rodeo. Braylon did Mutton Bustin' again, and placed in the top 10 for his age bracket. We rode rides, ate some typical fair food, and enjoyed a bit of the rodeo for as long as the kids would cooperate (which is never as long as we want them to).

Spring Break 2017

Braylon and Wyatt's cousins came into town for a couple days, and we had so much fun!! We went to the Houston Zoo, the Sam Houston Statue, and caught an SHSU baseball game.

Dane and Michaelanne's Wedding

Back in February, we had the joy of witnessing Dane Dobraski, one of Brad's closest friends, get married to Michaelanne. They asked Wyatt to be the ring bearer and it was too cute! We had a great time with friends and family!

My 33rd Birthday Surprise

The weekend of my 33rd birthday, I did as I usually do, nothing out of the ordinary. I got up and had my coffee, and made plans to get chores done around the house and grocery shop.  But before I could even get a shower, Darlene (aka Gramma Dar) came through the back door with sweet Brad following. My first thought was, "Geez, why didn't you tell me your mom was coming? I'm a hot mess." Then he said, "Go pack a bag! We're going to Lake Charles for your birthday!" I said, "Are you serious?" And so began a trip I'll never forget. Just for Brad to plan something that is not his cup of tea, and get out of his comfort zone all for me, was something so endearing and special to me.  How did I get so lucky?!? We had the best time gambling at the Golden Nugget, eating out, and sleeping in! It was a birthday I will never forget! I'm so grateful for the time with Brad and the effort he put into surprising me!

I also got to celebrate with my mom and sister! We had a good time eating at Fajita Jack's on Lake Conroe.

Christmas 2016

I'm trying to catch up on my blog posts, but a lot of my photos have been uploaded to Snapfish already.  Christmas had a lot more to it then these two pictures...

This is Braylon at our church nativity scene. They went up on stage in front of the whole church! It's sad I couldn't remember what we did for Christmas until I started looking back at photos. Thank goodness for pictures to bring back memories...and all the more reason to keep up with this here blog ;)

Happy Thanksgiving

We traveled to Blake's for Thanksgiving and Addison's first birthday. Unfortunately, early Friday morning Brad came down with a horrible stomach bug that kept him in bed (or on the toilet) all day. We had borrowed an RV so he was quarantined in there for 24+ hours. Poor Wyatt also threw up three times that morning. Him and I both had stomach issues the past couple days, but nothing major. Brad definitely got the worst of it. Luckily, he was able to bounce back the next day. That didn't leave others out of the woods though. Addie threw up during her birthday party Saturday and two others got hit by the bug as well. Other than the ilness, we had a great time eating, playing games, and taking the kids to the park and cotton fields.

I just love these photos Bonnie got of all the grandkids!

Just a little snapshot of the past few months... we are alive and well. I'm loving being back at work and the boys have enjoyed their new school. It was quite a transition for all of us, even Brad, but I think we have adjusted well.
Braylon was "Texan of the Week." His teacher picks someone every week for good behavior, and they get to take this stuffed bull home for the weekend. This was him after school on Friday with his best bud, M.J.

He took Toro the bull to the deer lease with Daddy.

I recently took a short trip to California to visit my sweet friend, Hayley. They just moved there and I had the best time exploring Cali with her.

Braylon received this award the 2nd Six Weeks of school for good character, behavior, etc.
Braylon's first report card

We celebrated Braylon mastering all 13 sight word lists by taking a trip to 3 Spoons Frozen Yogurt! So proud of him!

Brad and got a weekend away when we flew to Jeremy's ranch to celebrate his 40th birthday! Stoney LaRue played a live concert and we had a blast!

Jeremy was kind enough to send his private plane to pick us up.
